Dunk Contest: Kenneth Faried doesn't know what he's doing yet

The dunk contestants were only announced a week ago, which doesn't give the players a lot of time to plan stuff. The players don't take it seriously. If they did and failed, it's embarrassing. Set the bar low, so to speak. But if you have no idea what you're doing, it can get bad. Gerald Wallace was much like that in 2010.

Now, Kenneth Faried might be headed for the same.

Either the spontaneousness will lead to great creativity or Faried's going to shrug-dunk. We'll see how this goes. At 8-1 odds, Faried is the biggest underdog for the contest, along with Utah's Jeremy Evans, according to Bovada.lv. I kind of think Faried's best chance is to just go full-on power. Like this.

The 2013 Dunk Contest is Saturday night in Houston. We'll have continuing coverage of All-Star festivities all weekend long.
