Sources: Adonis Thomas returning to Memphis for sophomore season

NEW ORLEANS -- Memphis freshman Adonis Thomas has decided to return to school for his sophomore season and skip the 2012 NBA Draft, sources told CBSSports.com on Wednesday.

An official announcement will come late Wednesday afternoon.

Thomas is a 6-foot-6 wing who was projected as a borderline first-round pick. His return to school means Memphis should have a starting lineup of junior Joe Jackson, junior Chris Crawford, sophomore Adonis Thomas, McDonald's All-American Shaq Goodwin and junior Tarik Black. Consequently, the Tigers will be picked to win Conference USA and should be ranked in the top 10 of most preseason polls based on talent alone.

The Tigers finished 26-9 this season.

They made the NCAA tournament for the second straight year.
