Samford expected to hire Indiana assistant Seltzer
Samford will hire Indiana assistant Bennie Seltzer, barring a last-second collapse in negotiations, sources told CBSSports.com.
Seltzer, 39, has spent the past four seasons in Bloomington after he followed Tom Crean from Marquette. He spent two years with the Golden Eagles and was also an assistant at Oklahoma under Kelvin Sampson.
Selzer is an Alabama native who played at Washington State.
Samford athletic director Martin Newton, the son of former coach and AD C.M. Newton, targeted elite assistant coaches for the opening after he fired Jimmy Tillette last month.
Samford was 11-19 this past season.
