Source: Virginia Tech's Dorian Finney-Smith to transfer to Florida

By Jeff Borzello | College Basketball Writer

Even with coach Billy Donovan in Brazil, Florida is still making a killing on the recruiting trail.

Per a source, Virginia Tech transfer Dorian Finney-Smith has decided on Florida. He chose the Gators over Iowa State, Louisville, Marquette and others.

Finney-Smith is a 6-foot-8 forward who decided to leave the Hokies after the firing of Seth Greenberg. Reports indicate, however, that Finney-Smith had pondered the transfer even before the coaching change.

The Portsmouth, Va. native averaged 6.3 points and 7.0 rebounds during his freshman season, after being touted as the best Virginia Tech signee in recent memory. He's a talented prospect who can defend multiple positions.

Florida also nabbed South Carolina transfer Damontre Harris earlier this spring.
