Report: Freshman Milton Doyle leaving Kansas

Kansas freshman Milton Doyle is leaving the Jayhawks basketball program before ever playing a regular-seaon game, his mother, Lisa Green, told the Kansas City Star late Sunday.

The reason for the departure remains unclear.

Doyle initially committed to Florida International but re-opened his recruitment when the school fired Isiah Thomas after last season. The 6-foot-4 guard from Chicago committed to Kansas in June, enrolled in classes and accompanied the Jayhawks on this month's exhibition tour of France. He played 10 minutes in KU's final exhibition in Paris.

This development leaves KU with seven freshmen.

The Jayhawks are expected to be picked to win the Big 12.
