Report: Rice transfer Arsalan Kazemi headed to Oregon

Rice transfer Arsalan Kazemi appears to be headed to Oregon.

"It's close," said a source close to the situation. "Not 100 percent yet."

The 6-foot-7 forward, who averaged 12.1 points and 10.3 last season for the Owls, decided to leave last week and had a limited number of options due to the late decision. The Register-Guard reported that Kazemi has chosen to attend Oregon, which doesn't start classes until Monday. CBSSports.com has also received confirmation that it should be a done deal -- on Sunday.

Kazemi, a native of Iran who has averaged a double-double for two consecutive seasons, told CBSSports.com last week that his wish list was Kentucky, Texas, Oregon, Ohio State, Florida and Cincinnati. However, most of those schools had already started classes for the semester.

Sources told CBSSports.com that Kazemi will attempt to receive a waiver from the NCAA in order to play this season.
