Tom Crean speaks on absence of frosh Jeremy Hollowell

By Jeff Borzello | College Basketball Writer

Indiana bounced back from last weekend's loss to Butler with two wins, but the absence of freshman forward Jeremy Hollowell has been a mystery.

Hollowell did not play on Tuesday against Mount St. Mary's – despite dressing – and he didn't even suit up for Friday's game against Florida Atlantic. After the FAU contest, head coach Tom Crean read a statement. From Inside Indiana:

Jeremy is dealing with a personal and a private matter that is in no way related to academic behavior or disciplinary issues. He has our full support as we look for a quick resolution. Out of respect for he and his family, we will not discuss it further.

Hollowell, a 6-8 native of Indianapolis, was averaging 5.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 10 games this season. He started his Hoosiers career with back-to-back double-figure scoring efforts in November.
