Michigan out of consideration for a top seed

Wisconsin beat the Wolverines here at the United Center on Friday in the Big Ten quarterfinals and effectively eliminated John Beilein's team from contention for a No. 1 seed on Selection Sunday.

Michigan was projected as a No. 2 seed in Jerry Palm's latest Bracketology, and the Wolverines could've conceivably moved to the top line with a Big Ten tournament title given the strength of their entire body of work. But no school that finished tied for fourth in its league and then lost in the quarterfinals of its league tournament has ever received a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, and there's no reason to think the Wolverines will be the first.

So what seed will Michigan get?

A two is still possible, I guess.

But the Wolverines will probably get a three.

The worst case is most likely a four.
