Memphis guard Will Barton entering (and staying in) 2012 NBA Draft

ATLANTA -- Memphis guard Will Barton confirmed at a press conference on Thursday what CBSSports.com previously reported -- that the sophomore is entering the NBA Draft.

He has no plans to withdraw by the April 10 deadline and will sign with an agent.

"I wanna thank all the true real tiger fans who support our program & me," Barton tweeted Thursday night. "I hate 2 have 2 leave this great city & program."

Barton is a 6-foot-6 guard who averaged 18 points and eight rebounds while leading the Tigers to the Round of 64 of the NCAA tournament. He's projected to go late in the first round or somewhere in the second round of June's draft.

"We bout 2 do this," Barton tweeted. "The new journey starts 2day."
