Washington's Terrence Ross enters NBA draft

By Jeff Borzello | College Basketball Writer

Washington guard Terrence Ross will enter the NBA draft, the school announced on Sunday.

Ross, a 6-foot-6 sophomore from Portland, plans to hire an agent, meaning he cannot withdraw and return to the Huskies.

“I discussed the pros and the cons with my family and I just think this is a great step for me and it's time for me to take my game to the next level,” Ross said in a statement. “It's just been a real blessing to consider myself a Husky and get to where I am right now.”

Ross averaged 16.4 points and 6.4 rebounds for Washington, but came up big in the postseason. During the Huskies' run in the NIT, Ross averaged 25.0 points and 5.5 rebounds. He also knocked down 15 3-pointers during the tournament, shooting 40.5 percent from behind the arc.

“He was refreshing to coach because of his humility and team-first attitude,” head coach Lorenzo Romar said. “We wish him well and anticipate that he will have an excellent NBA career.”

Most draft services project Ross as a mid-first round pick.
