Duke forward Mason Plumlee returning to Durham

By Jeff Goodman | College Basketball Insider

Duke junior forward Mason Plumlee is returning to school.

The 6-foot-10 Plumlee averaged 11.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game this past season and has been contemplating whether to leave Durham early or return for his senior campaign for the past couple weeks.

NBA executives told CBSSports.com that Plumlee is projected as a late first-round pick, but could have slipped into the second round.

Most didn't expect Plumlee to stay four years at Duke, but he hasn't had the career that many expected.

Sources told CBSSports.com Plumlee met with Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski on Monday and informed the Blue Devils coach that he was coming back.

The school is set to make an official announcement this afternoon.
