Source: Kent's hire blocked at CSU, Eustachy back involved

Colorado State's plan to hire Ernie Kent has been blocked by a high-ranking administrator and the school's coaching search is now back on, a source told on Wednesday.

"It was done and somebody vetoed it," a source said. "Now Ernie is out." reported late Tuesday that Colorado State and Kent had reached a deal in principle, after which reported that a source at the school told it Kent had been hired, too. But a source told on Wednesday that an administrator stepped in late and essentially blocked Kent's hire from happening "for some reason," and that Southern Miss coach Larry Eustachy is back involved and considered the leading candidate.

Colorado State is looking to replace Tim Miles.

He left last month to replace Doc Sadler at Nebraska.
