SMU to meet with Larry Brown on Saturday

By Chris Adamski | CBSSports.com

SMU will meet with former Kansas and NBA head coach Larry Brown, sources confirmed to CBSSports.com.

ESPN's Andy Katz was the first to report the news.

Brown, 71, won a national title with Kansas back in 1988 and also won an NBA title with Detroit in 2004. He has been out of coaching since 2010 -- when he was fired after the Charlotte Bobcats were 9-19.

ESPN also reported that Marquette associate head coach Tony Benford will interview with SMU athletic director Steve Orsini, who has been looking for a coach since firing Matt Doherty more than a month ago.
