Transfer Updates: Damontre Harris, Jordan Clarkson, Julius Mays, etc.

South Carolina transfer Damontre Harris appears to have zeroed in on Florida and Kansas.

According to sources, the 6-foot-9 athletic sophomore big man is currently finishing up a visit to Florida and will head to Kansas later on Thursday.

Harris averaged 6.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and opted to look elsewhere after Darrin Horn was fired. One source said there's still a chance he returns to South Carolina and plays for new coach Frank Martin.

Julius Mays, a 6-foot-2 guard at Wright State who averaged 14.1 points this past season, announced he'll go elsewhere and be able to play immediately for his final campaign.

Mays told CBSSports.com that his initial list consists of Purdue, Michigan State, Kentucky, Cincinnati and possibly Michigan.

Tulsa transfer Jordan Clarkson, who averaged 16.5 points last season for the Golden Hurricanes, told CBSSports he is visiting Missouri today.

Clarkson said he also hopes to schedule visits to Illinois and UCLA.

Xavier transfer Mark Lyons took a quick visit to Kentucky earlier this week and will head to Arizona on Friday. … It appears as though Dayton is the front-runner for the services of Ohio State guard Jordan Sibert. According to sources, Cincinnati and Missouri are also in the mix. … Sibert's former teammate, athletic wing J.D. Weatherspoon, visited Toledo and sources said he may take a trip to Temple. … Iona fifth-year transfer Kyle Smythe is visiting Seton Hall today and told CBSSports that he's also considering going to Boston College - where he'll be able to play immediately. … Sources indicate that Florida State, Duke and Ohio State are currently the top three for Mississippi State transfer Rodney Hood. … Arizona State transfer Trent Lockett will likely choose from Marquette or Iowa State. … Word is that Wake Forest guard Tony Chennault will likely land back home at Villanova.
