Arizona transfer Josiah Turner lands with Larry Brown at SMU

By Jeff Borzello | College Basketball Writer

New head coach Larry Brown is already making a splash at SMU .

On Friday morning, he landed his first commitment for the Mustangs: Arizona transfer Josiah Turner.

“It's a great fit for me,” Turner told Jeff Goodman of CBSSports.com.

Turner had a tumultuous first season with the Wildcats, getting suspended multiple times before being dismissed from the team for off-court issues. He was also arrested by campus police last week and charged with extreme DUI. As Goodman has said, though, if Brown could handle Allen Iverson, Turner should be a walk in the park.

Turner, a 6-foot-3 point guard from Sacramento, averaged 6.8 points during his freshman season for Arizona. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
