|Props to Buzz Williams for wearing a tribute to Rick Majerus over the weekend. (US Presswire)|
Hopefully your weekend was good. To those who celebrate Hannukah, I hope the first few nights were lovely. And if you're the type to get a tree, perhaps you're not procrastinating like me in going out and getting one. As always, you can email me links you come across: firstname.lastname@example.org.

¶ Congratulations to Tubby Smith on something that's still, and probably always will be, considered a true accomplishment in college hoops. The man got W No. 500 over the weekend.
¶ Buzz Williams had his own little tribute to Rick Majerus, but looked much more svelte than Majerus ever could've.
¶ In 10 days we'll know more about UNC's academic improprieties when the independent investigation into the wrongdoing is released.
¶ I loved this column from David Roth, but mostly because the lead graf sets the table well. I would counter by saying college basketball's sect is actually among the most reasonable in major American sports.
¶ A really nice column/feature from last Thursday that might've slipped past your radar.
¶ Triple-doubles at the college level are always impressive, no matter the school.
¶ Dan Wolken hits it on the head with this one.
¶ More evaluation on why this Michigan group is so good and looks to be complete, something Ann Arbor hasn't seen in years.
¶ This made the rounds this weekend, but I had to link it anyway. Pitino has really managed to lighten up over the years.
¶ Small but important item here. Something that could -- just could, no guarantees -- alter college basketball in some ways down the road.
¶ The MAAC is on the sly trying to add either one or three schools, from what sources have told me. One of the best indie hoops site out there got league commissioner Rich Ensor on the record.
¶ I don't know if he feels an obligation because of his status or whatever -- I don't really care. What I do care and love is that Nerlens Noel is one of the most charity forward-thinking players this sport has.
Fun visit to the nursing home earlier. Some BIG UK fans in there ! twitter.com/NerlensNoel3/s…— Nerlens Noel (@NerlensNoel3) December 9, 2012
¶ Great act of charity -- symbolically and materialistically -- by two coaches on Sunday.
¶ The tricky business of 3-point shooting and 3-point "defense." I tend to disagree with this thesis, to a certain extent.
Moving Pictures and Music
We're now 15 days out from Christmas, and I think it's fair time to start sharing the holiday tunes each morning until the 25th comes and goes again. One of my favorite pop culture sites, The A.V. Club, recently had a great write-up on what could be my favorite Christmas album. This track, "Christmas is Coming" is my favorite off the album. Always try to play it when decorating the tree.
