Coach Jim Larranaga says Johnson is expected to be sidelined six to eight weeks.
With both Scott, who missed the first three games, and Johnson in the lineup, Miami (8-3) was a perfect 5-0. The Hurricanes lost to Florida Gulf Coast in the second game of the season while Scott was serving an NCAA suspension.
Miami lost to both Arizona and Indiana State out in Hawaii this past week without Johnson, a senior who was averaging a double-double (12.6 ppg, 10.1 rpg) and suffered the injury in practice the day before the Diamond Head Classic.
This is a Miami team that could compete for one of the top spots in the ACC when at full-strength. The Canes play La Salle on Jan. 2 and then open league play on Jan. 5 at Georgia Tech.
