I'm a real sucker for celebrities/alums planting themselves among the sweaty and horny horde of college kids and playing the part of student siren.
The latest example of that came Wednesday night in Auburn, Ala., when Cam Newton went home to his alma mater and cheered on his Tigers against hated rival Alabama.
And what do you know? Underachieving 9-13 Auburn not only pulled off the win -- it was a beatdown of 14-8 Bama. A 49-37 final, the lowest points Alabama's ever scored in the 146-game history of the series between the teams. Auburn came back to win it, too, which Newton knows a thing or two about.
Here's video of Newton from Wednesday night, player/coaching reactions as well. I find it no surprise that Tigers coach Tony Barbee had no idea Newton was on hand for the game. Coaches get so blind-hot focused on those 40 minutes, most everything outside of the court of play becomes muffled noise and blurred in vision.
