Lehigh's McCollum unlikely to play again in Patriot tourney

Lehigh won't have star guard C.J. McCollum for the Patriot League tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday and Mountain Hawks coach Brett Reed told CBSSports.com that "we are approaching this as if he won't play in the tourney."

"it's unlikely," Reed said.

McCollum was the frontrunner to win the Patriot League Player of the Year and is also considered a first-round pick in June's NBA Draft. He was averaging 23.9 points and 5.0 rebounds in a dozen games before suffering a broken foot in a loss to VCU on Jan. 5.

Lehigh will host Colgate in the league quarterfinals on Wednesday at 7 p.m. If the Mountain Hawks win, they would face the winner of Saturday's game between No. 2 Lafayette and No. 7 Holy Cross.
