1. Can UNLV finally get it going?
The Runnin' Rebels are one of the top five teams in the nation in terms of pure overall talent. However, Dave Rice's team has underachieved this season, even losing to Fresno State at home in the regular-season finale. Mike Moser hasn't been himself all year long after suffering multiple injuries, and Anthony Marshall hasn't been consistent in his role as the team's point guard. However, this team can be extremely dangerous -- if it can figure it out. But time is running out.
2. Can New Mexico move up to the No. 2 line?
Possibly, but the Lobos will need to win the league tourney and also need some help. Right now Steve Alford's team is a likely No. 3 seed, but depending on what happens with teams like Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Miami in their league tourneys, UNM still has a shot.
3. Is anyone on the bubble heading into the tourney?
New Mexico, UNLV, San Diego State and Colorado State are all virtual locks and playing for seeds. Boise State tied San Diego State for fourth in the league and has already won 21 games. Leon Rice's team has knocked off Creighton on the road and has also beaten UNLV, San Diego State and Colorado State in league play. Boise should be a lock as well, giving the league five bids.
