Hofstra parts ways with Mo Cassara

Hofstra has parted ways with coach Mo Cassara.

Sources told CBSSports.com that athletic director Jeff Hathaway, who came over from UConn last year, made the decision on Thursday.

Cassara was hired amid difficult circumstances three years ago, and finished 21-12 and 14-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association in his first season. The Pride finished 7-25 this past season while dealing with off-court issues.

Cassara had seven recruits committed to the program for 2013-14.
