UCLA's courting of Brad Stevens ended like all others -- with a polite no, thank you.
Sources confirmed to CBSSports.com early Friday that Stevens will remain at Butler despite interest from UCLA. No formal announcement is scheduled. But, a source said, that has more to do with Stevens' personality than anything else.
"Brad doesn't understand why people would assume he's leaving," a source said.
A national media outlet briefly reported Thursday that UCLA and Stevens were in negotiations, which heightened speculation. But that report was later edited and ultimately did not include any reference to negotiations at all. Either way, it doesn't matter now. Stevens will coach at Butler next season and guide the school into the Big East.
"Love walking thru Hinkle in the morning," Stevens tweeted early Friday. "Anxious to get started on our spring workouts next week."
