Kansas star Ben McLemore entering NBA Draft after one season

Kansas star Ben McLemore, in a predictable conclusion, announced Tuesday that he will forgo his final three years of eligibility and enter the 2013 NBA Draft.

McLemore, a partial-qualifier coming out of high school, is a St. Louis native who emerged as a National Player of the Year candidate this season while leading the Jayhawks to a share of the Big 12 title. The 6-foot-5 wing averaged 15.9 points and 5.2 rebounds. He's a consensus top-five pick and possible No. 1 overall selection.

This development ensures KU will lose its top five scorers from last season.

Perry Ellis, a 6-foot-8 forward, is the leading returning player.

He averaged 13.6 minutes per game this season.
