By Jeff Goodman | College Basketball Insider

Marist is hiring former New Orleans Hornets general manager Jeff Bower. Sources told CBSSports.com an announcement is expected Wednesday.

Bower, 51, will replace Chuck Martin.

Bower was an assistant at the school from 1986 to 1995 under Dave Magarity, where he coached former NBA big man Rik Smits, and was also an assistant at Penn State for three seasons.

He held several positions within the Hornets organization from 1995 to 2010 and was the head coach in 2009-10. Bower was fired in July of 2010.
