By Jeff Goodman | College Basketball Insider

Furman has hired Colorado State assistant Niko Medved, sources told CBSSports.com.

Medved has been with the Rams for the past six seasons -- including last season with new coach Larry Eustachy.

He was at Furman for three years, including serving as the interim head coach in the spring of 2006.

He takes over for Jeff Jackson, who was 85-131 in his seven years at the helm. The program was 7-24 this past season in 3-15 in Southern Conference play.
