Florida's Patric Young had ankle surgery

Quick note here on Florida center Patric Young, who recently declared he'd return for a senior season in Gainesville.

Perhaps this is part of the reason.

Young had surgery on April 12, according to the Independent Alligator, which reported the news first (it was then confirmed by Florida). The surgery was required due to a bone spur in Young's right ankle.

Young posted these sweet tweets after undergoing the knife:

(Quick side note for Pat. Great call on Fringe. Olivia Dunham is my not-so-secret crush. And that seriously could be the most underrated show of the past 10 years. Keep pressing. It gets better -- and more confusing.)

Anyway, Young put up 9.5 points and 5.8 boards per game in Florida's four NCAA games this past March. The Gators fell in the Elite Eight to Michigan, 79-59. Florida was ranked No. 6 in our way-too-early Top 25 (and one) for the 2013-14 season.

Since it's been more than a week since the surgery, any recent updates on the rehab? Well:

OK, then.
