Texas A&M making push for four-star PG Alex Robinson

HAMPTON, Va. -- Alex Robinson's team didn't get the win against Tyus Jones and Howard Pulley last Friday night at the Boo Williams EYBL, but one could make the case that Robinson outplayed the nation's top-ranked point guard late in the game.

The 6-foot-1 Robinson controlled tempo, made shots from a variety of spots and put his teammates in good positions for easy buckets. Despite the three-point loss, Robinson finished with a triple-double: 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Through the rest of the weekend, though, Robinson was up and down – and he knows it.

“I think I've been playing alright. I could do better,” Robinson said. “I gotta be more consistent. Since I had that good game, everyone's been paying more attention to me.”

Robinson is a four-star point guard from Kennedale (Texas) who is making his first appearance on the EYBL circuit. He played with DJH5 last summer but is now on the Texas Titans.

“I need get used to the pace of the game, which I'm doing,” Robinson said. “I think I'm doing it well so far.”

Ranked No. 88 in the 247 Sports Composite, Robinson has offers from most schools in the Big 12, along with the likes of Vanderbilt, Clemson and others.

Texas A&M is making the biggest play for Robinson so far. He has visited the College Station campus, and the Aggies also went to Robinson for an in-home visit.

“They're like a family, man,” he said. “They show you a lot of love. If they want you, they show you a lot of interest. They're definitely in the mix.”

Despite the Aggies' full-court press, Robinson isn't ready to make a commitment anywhere.

“Not anytime soon,” he said.
