American University is expected to announce the hiring of Georgetown assistant and former Eagles assistant Mike Brennan at a 5 p.m. news conference on Tuesday, sources confirmed to CBSSports.com.

The news was first reported by the Washington Post.

Brennan has been with John Thompson III and the Hoyas for the past four seasons and was also with JT3 at Princeton. He also spent two years as an assistant at American.

Brennan replaces Jeff Jones, who left for Old Dominion with a 212-182 mark in 13 seasons with the Eagles.
