Disclaimer: This video is not great. And that's the point. The reporter, Adam Himmelsbach of Louisville's Courier-Journal, gets about 70 seconds of an in-gymnasium interview with Andrew Wiggins after the phenom's Kansas decision went public on Tuesday afternoon.

The responses are boilerplate, hard to hear and basically pretty predictable. Wiggins doesn't make a lot of eye contact. He looks distracted or at least itching to get on to the next interview. Or maybe just out of the gym altogether. The exchange ends with a whimper. (To be fair, many interviews with college basketball players peter; I speak from way too much experience.)
Point is, Wiggins is a physical marvel still spooling with potential, but the media thing is most definitely not his thing. That's totally OK. I'm not criticizing him -- I'd take this disinterested disposition to the polar opposite approach, for sure. But if you're wondering what kind of personality Wiggins has, at least in front of cameras and microphones, it has basically been this.
This is why few predicted Kansas or had any idea where Wiggins would weigh in.
And it's going to be interesting to see if or how he adapts to talking to the press going into next season. Most have never heard Wiggins talk or barely seen him play, but that's going to change in a few months.
Well, at least the having-seen-him-play part will. The camera/media stuff is a lot different, and so he's a lot different -- not just in the basketball sense.
