Reports: Northeastern's Pat Duquette gets UMass-Lowell job

By Matt Norlander | College Basketball Writer

UMass-Lowell, which is making its move from D-II to D-I, has picked its head coach.

According to Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel, among other reports, Northeastern assistant Pat Duquette will get the gig with the River Hawks. It will be a segue that makes sense for the program and the man, as Northeastern plays CAA but is located in Boston.

UMass-Lowell is headed to the America East Conference, which is anchored in the northeastern part of the country. Duquette has been the associate head coach at Northeastern for the past three seasons after spending 13 years at Boston College. He knows the region well.

This hiring means only that Lipscomb remains on the list of schools that have yet to put a head coach in place for the 2013-14 season.
