The 6-foot-4 Louisville native is heading to Xavier.
Abell chose the Musketeers over Saint Louis. Saint Mary's was also in the mix, but the Gaels couldn't get Abell on campus.
The strong shooting guard averaged 4.0 points during his second year in Bloomington. His minutes dropped significantly during conference play, as he played double-figures in just 10 of his final 15 regular-season games.
Abell has a good body, which enables him to guard multiple positions on the perimeter. He's not a great scorer, but he can get points in different ways. He knocked down 16 3-pointers and was also able to finish at the rim.
After sitting out one season, Abell will suit up for Xavier in the 2014-15 season. Rising sophomore guard Semaj Christon should still be around and could be one of the best point guards in the country. Dee Davis and Justin Martin will also be on the roster, along with 2014 prospects Melvin Swift and Edmond Sumner. Redshirts Jalen Reynolds and Myles Davis, and incoming freshman Brandon Randolph, will be part of the rotation, too.
After a surprising 17-14 season, the future looks bright for Chris Mack and the Musketeers.
