Duke's Mike Krzyzewski to continue as coach of USA Basketball

Duke's Mike Krzyzewski will return as head coach of USA Basketball for the 2016 Olympics, a source confirmed to CBSSports.com on Wednesday.

A formal announcement is scheduled for Thursday.

SI.com first reported the news.

Krzyzewski has accumulated a 62-1 record with USA Basketball while winning gold medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 London Olympics. The 66-year-old Hall of Famer previously stated he planned to end his tenure, walk away before the 2014 FIBA World Championship in Madrid. But he's now decided otherwise and will coach USA Basketball in Madrid in 2014 and in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

USA Basketball's next mini-camp with possible team members will be in July.

Krzyzewski is the winningest coach in college basketball history with 957 career victories. He's won four national championships and made 11 Final Fours. His Blue Devils are expected to be a preseason top-10 team when the AP poll is released in October.
