Katin Reinhardt is leaving UNLV

Katin Reinhardt is leaving UNLV after one year because he's frustrated with his role, despite the fact that his role allowed him to shoot 324 times this season, which ranked second on the team behind only future NBA lottery pick Anthony Bennett.

Here are UNLV coach Dave Rice's quotes to the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

"He said that he feels his best opportunity to play in the NBA is to play more minutes at the point guard position. Katin would have had an opportunity to compete for minutes at the point, but I've never guaranteed anyone that they will start or play a certain number of minutes."

Reinhardt averaged 10.1 points in 29.2 minutes per game this season while helping UNLV make the NCAA tournament. He's expected to transfer to a Pac-12 school. USC is among the possible destinations, a source told CBSSports.com.

This development will leave UNLV without six of its top eight scorers from last season.

Bryce Dejean-Jones and Khem Birch are the only regulars returning.
