Since he passed on the NBA Draft, Creighton's Doug McDermott is going to get the most experience possible in his final season of amateur status.

On Monday, the two-time All-American officially accepted an invite from USA Basketball to try out for the squad in the upcoming World University Games. Team America potentially just got even better on the offensive end as a result. McDermott is one of 29 players, as of now, who will train/tryout at the Colorado Springs facilities.

USA Basketball announced over the weekend that Davidson coach Bob McKillop would be the man in charge of this team for the summer. He'll have Michigan's John Beilein and Frank Martin of South Carolina as his assistants.

The camp will run from June 24-30. USA Basketball announced in full on Monday the roster of the 29 invitees. On that list: Duke point guard Quinn Cook and Stanford shooting guard Chasson Randle. Those two are notable as they've previously played for USA Basketball and won gold medals in U16 and U17 competition.

The World University Gmaes will be held in Kazan, Russia, July 7-16. The Games take place every two years; the United States took fifth in 2011 and hasn't won the event in eight years. The 12-man roster will be announced at the end of June.

Twenty-three schools are represented on the 29-player roster. The Big East has more players going to Colorado Springs (six) than any other conference. Five Big Ten players were plucked as well.
