Devonta Pollard, an Alabama forward charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping earlier this month, is no longer a part of the Crimson Tide basketball program, a source told CBSSports.com on Wednesday.
Alabama has yet to formally announce this development.
Pollard averaged 3.9 points and 3.1 rebounds this past season as a freshman before allegedly participating in a kidnapping with his mother in his home state of Mississippi. A source told CBSSports.com that Pollard had planned to enroll in a junior college. But this legal development could hinder that, obviously, and now there's no guarantee he'll play basketball at all next season.
