Oregon State suspends forwards Collier, Moreland

By Matt Norlander | College Basketball Writer

Oregon State forwards Devon Collier and Eric Moreland -- who last year combined to average 23 points -- have been suspended indefinitely by Oregon State.

Coach Craig Robinson and the university announced the punishment Tuesday afternoon, citing a violation of team rules.

"They will be allowed to participate with the team in summer workouts and strength/conditioning activities while attending summer school classes," the statement said, adding, "Oregon State officials will have no further comment at this time."

Collier is a senior; Moreland a junior. Collier averaged 12.6 points and six rebounds in 25.5 minutes last season. Moreland grabbed more than 10 rebounds per game, by far a team-best, and scored 9.4 points per in the process.

Oregon State finished 14-18 last year after dealing with an early season-ending injury to big man Angus Brandt.
