The biggest story in the class of 2014 is the potential package deal with Jahlil Okafor and Tyus Jones, two of the top players in the country. It has long been discussed between the two players, and the idea has shown very few signs of slowing down. Throughout the summer, both players continued to claim they wanted to go to college together.
Okafor (ranked No. 1 in 2014) and Jones (also ranked in the top five) have their lists aligned for the most part, with only a couple of schools appearing on one list and not the other.
Last week, we got the news that Okafor was planning to visit Kentucky (Sept. 9) and Arizona (Oct. 11) by himself, while the two players were going to trip to Baylor (Aug. 30), Kansas (Oct. 18) and Duke (Oct. 25) together. Okafor also wanted to take unofficial trips to Illinois, Michigan State and Ohio State.
On Tuesday afternoon, Jones confirmed his visit schedule.
These are the final visits I'm taking. Unofficial to MN today Officials to: Baylor Aug 30-Sept 1 UK Sept 27-29 KU Oct 18-20 Duke Oct 25-27— Tyus Jones (@Tyusjones06) August 13, 2013
As expected, three of the official visits will be taken together: Baylor, Kansas, Duke. The two players will also visit Kentucky, but not together. What does this mean? It could be a scheduling conflict, or it could be the two players want to get a feel of Lexington on their own.
The first official visit is only a little more than two weeks away, so a decision from each player could certainly be made by the end of the early signing period.
