VIDEO: Wisconsin players get badgered, tested about Canada

By Matt Norlander | College Basketball Writer

"Saskatchewan is a province, I believe," says Wisconsin sophomore Sam Dekker in a video that's equal parts entertaining and educational.

The Badgers went up to Canada in the past week, and in advance of the trip Dekker quizzed his teammates on all things Canadia, from the country's capital to famous non-sports celebs to the most recent Wisconsin hoopster who hailed from the Great White North.

Yet not one mention of Rush or Neil Young. For shame, Mr. Dekker. And more shame to freshman Riley Dearring, who thinks "Canadian" is a language. (Well, maybe it sort of is, y'no?)

Wisconsin went 4-1 on its trip, by the way. The biggest news related to the team was that impact guard Josh Gasser returned to play less than a year after tearing his ACL. Wisconsin, per usual, isn't expected to be the best team in the Big Ten this season, but it'll undoubtedly challenge and almost certainly reach the NCAA tournament. Bo Ryan has never finished worse than fourth in the league since he started coach the Badgers in 2001.
