Report: Ari Stewart's poor grades signal his USC career is over

By Matt Norlander | College Basketball Writer

The transition at USC under Andy Enfield this offseason has, expectedly, come with a lot of turnover. Some good, this latest bit of news not so much. Wake Forest transfer Ari Stewart has failed to academically qualify, according to GalenCentral.com.

Stewart sat out his transfer redshirt season after leaving Wake in 2011. He's a 6-7 senior who averaged 3.4 points in less than 11 minutes per game last season. With his grades not being up to snuff, this means his college career is over and he'll never play in a USC uniform again. Galen Central reports Stewart is nonetheless enrolled in classes and plans to get his degree.

Stewart reportedly had to transfer out of Wake Forest in 2011 due to classroom troubles.

Earlier this week USC learned Maryland transfer Pe'Shon Howard would be eligible for the upcoming season; last week the school learned former VCU center/graduate transfer D.J. Haley would be join the program/play in 2013-14.
