It was two months ago to the day Louisville announced it intended to sell off slabs of its Final Four floor to raise money for charity. The new week brings news that Louisville's tablets of maple from the 2013 championship weekend are now up for sale. GoCards.com/floor is boasting three sizes/styles of court that people can buy. And 1,000 of those pieces feature newly minted Hall-of-Famer Rick Pitino's John Hancock.

Louisville Athletics states proceeds from the sale of these items will go toward "research being conducted by Kenneth Lucas, M.D., chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Kosair Children's Hospital and division chief of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation for the University of Louisville Department of Pediatrics."

It's a cause to help sick kids, which everybody can get behind. This also marks the second straight year that something like this has happened; 2012 champs Kentucky rallied behind a good cause and its massive fanbase's disposable income to sell off portions of its court. UK earned more than $200,000 in charity efforts, according to Northwestern Mutual, which sponsored the sale.

“As exciting as it was for us to win the national championship this year, it's also exciting to be part of this effort to raise money for cancer research,” Pitino said in a statement. “It's all about giving back to the community."
