Marshall Henderson will open practice with Ole Miss

Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy told CBSSports.com on Tuesday that Marshall Henderson will open practice with the Rebels on Friday, meaning the all-league guard's suspension is essentially over. That said, Henderson is still expected to miss games this season as punishment for his offseason behavior that sources told CBSSports.com included multiple failed drug tests. Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork told USA Today's Dan Wolken that the number of games Henderson will miss is yet to be determined.

Henderson was "indefintely suspended" on July 10 and hasn't tweeted since July 11.

The Texas native -- who averaged 20.1 points last season while leading Ole Miss to the Round of 32 of the NCAA tournament -- is the reigning CBSSports.com SEC Player of the Year. Under normal circumstances, that would ensure his presence at next month's SEC Media Days. But Kennedy told CBSSports.com on Tuesday that the school hasn't yet decided whether Henderson will attend the event in Alabama.

Gary Parrish is a senior college basketball columnist for CBSSports.com and college basketball insider for the CBS Sports Network. The Mississippi native also hosts an award-winning radio show in Memphis. He lives in that area with his wife, two sons and two dogs.
