It's been a long offseason filled with many basketball court makeovers.

As you can see, the best/worst was saved for last. San Jose State unveiled its new playing surface over the weekend, via Facebook, and it's unlike anything we've seen in college basketball. The Spartans will send out the reminder to everyone that they are Spartans by playing on a court with five massive Spartans buliding a shield wall from between the 3-point lines.

The good news for SJSU: No matter the opinion on this choice, it's still better than what James Madison did to itself.

San Jose State has been around D-I hoops forever, but basically been irrelevant for the better part of two decades. The program has made three NCAA tournaments, most recently in 1996. They were picked to finish last in the Mountain West preseason poll, which was released Tuesday. Unlike most other basement-dwellers around the country, at least SJSU found a way to get some run before the season begins.

(A hat tip to this from everyone on the Internet who covers college basketball.)
