Louisville's Kevin Ware played in a game Wednesday night for the first time since fracturing his leg in last March's victory over Duke in the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament.

Ware received a standing ovation from the crowd at the KFC Yum! Center. His injury happened 220 days ago. Louisville defeated Pikeville 90-61 in Wednesday's exhibition. Ware finished with six points and four rebounds in 10 minutes. He made his first shot attempt -- a 3-pointer from the right corner.

"I've been waiting for this moment, what, 220 days?" Ware told reporters afterward, according to Eric Crawford. "I was a little nervous. ... I thought I'd airball my first shot. ... Me making that first shot took everything away. I finally feel normal, finally. Old-normal. Being able to play basketball again."

JUCO transfer Chris Jones led Louisville in scoring with 19 points.

The Cardinals open their regular season on Saturday against Charleston.
