Boston College G Jackson to miss Providence game

By Jon Rothstein | CBS Sports

Boston College's Lonnie Jackson will miss Friday's opener at Providence due to a hamstring injury, Eagles coach Steve Donahue told CBSSports.com Thursday morning.

The 6-4 Jackson averaged 8.7 points per game last season and made 65 three-point field goals.

The Friars will also be shorthanded on Friday. The school announced on Wednesday that freshman Brandon Austin and Rodney Bullock were suspended indefinitely for not "upholding their responsibilities as student athletes."

Providence is also still unsure if sophomore Kris Dunn will play against Boston College due to a shoulder injury he suffered in last weekend's exhibition game vs. Rhode Island College.
