VIDEO: Dayton wins on 3-pointer following crazy turnover

By Matt Norlander | College Basketball Writer

It seems hyperbolic to suggest less than 48 hours into the 2013-14 season, but watch the video above and tell me this won't wind up as one of the five craziest endings to a game we'll see all year.

Trailing IPFW 80-78 with less than seven seconds remaining, Dayton duped the Mastodons into making a long pass over the middle of the court. That enabled Khari Price to pluck off the pass. He fell to the floor with it and spotted Kyle Davis 15 feet away.

Davis and Dayton then had IPFW in a bad spot. Jordan Sibert slipped to the wing of the 3-point line -- and pulled the trigger. The shot fell true with 0.8 seconds remaining, giving the Flyers the game and an 81-80 win.

“I was thinking about taking the three the entire time,” Sibert told NBCSports.com. “I knew the game situation, that a two would tie it, but I worked hard on my three-point shooting and I was very confident. I know that Kyle and Khari are very unselfish, so I knew that if I could get to an open area they would find me. They found me, and I was able to shoot my shot.”

What a finish, one that I'd say tops the also-loony ending from Friday night's Fresno State-UC Irvine game.
