VIDEO: Canisius' Billy Baron sinks buzzer-beating 3 to beat Elon

By Matt Norlander | Staff Writer

This is one of the most disturbingly casual game-winning 3-pointers I've ever seen. Former Rhode Island guard Billy Baron -- now playing for his dad at Canisius, who was also formerly at Rhode Island, as a coach -- sank a trey Tuesday night to knock off Elon.

Baron does it so haphazardly, you'd never know the game was on the line for the Golden Griffins. The crowd is fairly tame, and even the reaction after it falls through is mostly on behalf of Baron's teammate. That said, this was a loser's-bracket game in the preseason NIT -- at Rutgers -- so the environment wasn't exactly electric.

Canisius is now 2-2 and next plays Georgia State on Nov. 25.
