It's hard not to root for Maurice Creek. The George Washington senior suffered three injuries in a two-year span while at Indiana -- and never looked like the player we all thought he would be after averaging 15.3 points in his first half-season as a freshman.
On Sunday, Creek had 25 to lead the Colonials to a 77-75 win over Maryland -- but his step-back jumper with 0.6 seconds left ensured his efforts would not be for naught.
George Washington led by 14 with 5:17 left, but Maryland turned up the pressure, and the Colonials had trouble holding off the Terrapins.
The Colonials are now 8-1 on the season, and Creek is averaging 16.3 points.
