VIDEOS: Three teams win in closing seconds thanks to 3-pointers

By Matt Norlander | College Basketball Writer

College basketball's Sunday gave us two three winning shots that were either true or near buzzer-beaters. It's turned out to be a dramatic day after all.

Above, USC got a road win at Dayton in overtime thanks to a trey from former Maryland guard Pe'Shon Howard. The 3-pointer as time expired gave Howard his 10th, 11th and 12th points. He got the shot off just in time -- and with enough lift to get it over the hand of Vee Sanford. The Trojans improved to 8-4, while Dayton fell to 9-3.

The first winner from Sunday was Nick Kellogg's winner (below) on the road to take out 8-4 Richmond in overtime, 70-69. Kellogg is the son of CBS college hoops analyst Clark Kellogg; the young Kellogg is now a senior, averaging 14 points and four rebounds.

Ohio's won all three games it's played decided by five points or less this season. The Bobcats' win ended Richmond's 42-6 record at home over non-conference opponents.

The other winner in the closing ticks came from the hands of Rutgers' Myles Mack, who hit a 3 with 3.5 seconds remaining. The Scarlet Knights squeaked by against Army, 75-72. Mack -- who has had himself a great December -- finished with 18 points and seven assists. Rutgers is now 6-7.
