The on-again, off-again relationship between Florida and Damontre Harris is on again.
Kinda, at least.
Coach Billy Donovan told reporters after Wednesday's 74-58 win over South Carolina that Harris will re-enroll at Florida and have an opportunity to work his way back onto the practice court. Whether Harris will do what's necessary to make that happen is obviously unknown. But, either way, Donovan said Harris will not appear in any games this season under any circumstances. Consequently, November is the earliest he could possibly play again.
Harris transferred to Florida after the 2011-12 season and two years at South Carolina. The 6-foot-10 forward was arrested last February and suspended before the start of this season, meaning he has been at Florida for nearly two years but never actually played for the Gators.
Florida is 12-2 overall, 1-0 in the SEC.
The Gators are ranked 10th in the AP poll.
Their next game is Saturday afternoon at Arkansas.
