South Alabama-Georgia State postponed due to bad weather

Georgia State announced Wednesday morning that its home game scheduled for Thursday night against South Alabama has been moved to Monday, Feb. 3, due to paralyzing weather conditions in the greater Atlanta area.

South Alabama was unable to fly or drive to the Atlanta area as of Wednesday morning, so a decision to move the game back four days had to be made.

"Conditions do not look like they will improve enough to make a Thursday game possible when taking into consideration player and fan safety, therefore prompting the move to Monday after consultation between both athletic department administrations," according to a GSU release. "The South Alabama women's team made it to Atlanta overnight and the game against Georgia State is still planned to be played on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET at the Sports Arena. It was postponed from its originally scheduled Wednesday night tip."

Weather in the south has already postponed one game in the SEC and made for a long night for UNC, which as of 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday was still scheduled to play at Georgia Tech.

Georgia State's next game is now at home against Texas-Arlington. GSU has won 11 games in a row, tied for the longest in program history.
